NCRPA Virtual Learning Workshop - Be the Speaker - Attendee Registration

Public speaking is like karaoke—terrifying at first, but amazing once you find your rhythm

Develop the tools and confidence to speak with impact through shared experience and discussion. Our Be the Speaker workshop features experienced presenters, members of NRPA’s Conference Education Committee, and distinguished speakers from Capital City Toastmasters

Presenters will share practical tips, lessons learned, and real-world insights on effective speaking. Through guided conversation and audience Q&A, you will explore how to structure your message, engage audiences both virtually and in person, and build your reputation as a credible and dynamic speaker.

Our Toastmasters speakers will lead an engaging discussion on the do’s and don’ts of public speaking, sharing proven techniques to help you connect with your audience, avoid common pitfalls, and present with purpose and confidence.

You’ll learn that a successful speaking opportunity isn’t just about the final presentation—it includes a strong proposal that gets you to the podium. Our speakers will break down what makes a submission stand out and how to position yourself as a compelling choice for conferences and workshops.

Participants will leave with actionable takeaways and a clearer path to strengthening both their presentation and proposal skills.

Who should attend?  Professionals, Recreation Professionals and other professionals looking to become a new speaker or enhance their speaker skills.
