The 2025 Carolinas Conference is coming to North Charleston, South Carolina, from December 1-3, 2025! Hosted by SCRPA & NCRPA, this conference brings together parks and recreation professionals from across both states for an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. Attendees will benefit from diverse educational sessions designed to enhance their knowledge and skills, while also exploring innovative solutions, products, and services showcased by exhibitors. This event fosters meaningful networking among peers, creating a dynamic environment for collaboration and idea-sharing.

- To receive the discounted member rate, you must log into your membership account prior to registering for the event. If you register at the non-member rate and pay by credit card, we will refund the difference minus a $5 processing fee.

The Magic of Charleston's Holiday Festival of Lights | Sunday, Nov 30 @ 2:30-3:30pm and 7:30pm | Pre-Registration Required
Started in 1990, Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission's Holiday Festival of Lights is the largest light show in the southeast and third best public light display in the country. With 750 light displays and 3 million lights at James Island County Park, it sees over 200,000 visitors every year. Join us for an inside look at the creative process, engineering, and teamwork that power Charleston’s beloved Holiday tradition. From design to setup and sustainability, discover how a lot of planning, hard work — and just a touch of magic — bring the season to life. Bus tour of the lights included.

Media Ready: Communicating Clearly in Celebration or Crisis | Monday, Dec. 1 @ 9:00 - 11:00 pm | Pre-Registration Required.
How you communicate with the media can make, or break, your image. This session will explore strategies for engaging with the media across various scenarios—from celebrating community wins to navigating the complexities of crisis management. Attendees will learn how to craft clear messages that resonate with both the public and the press, ensuring that your message is communicated effectively. Whether you're celebrating a community event or dealing with a sudden crisis, this session will equip you with the tools to communicate confidently and strategically with the media.
Fee: $55 Memers; $80 Non-Members
