Daniel Leatherman, CPRE
President-Elect
Iredell County Parks & Recreation
Daniel is excited to join the Board for a second stint, as he previously served the Association in the role of Professional Development Board Member. He currently serves as Director of Iredell County Parks and Recreation Department, a mid-size department within the Charlotte-Metro area, after working with Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties earlier in his career. Similar to many in our industry Daniel grew up as a parks kid, and enjoyed many firsts at his local department including swim lessons and summer camp - and now loves giving residents a place to enjoy these same core experiences and more for themselves. Outside of work you can find him kayaking the Catawba River, playing in a local pickleball league, or exploring new hiking trails around the state. Daniel also serves as a CAPRA visitor, on local boards and advisory groups, and is thrilled to continue the work of the Association now as President Elect.
