Happy Monday,

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and has fully recovered from the “turkey coma!” Can you believe there is only one day left of November? As the days get colder and shorter, it can be hard to find motivation to stay active and healthy. This week’s blog focuses on creating incentives to stay health conscious through the use of free mobile iOS and Android apps. These health-focused apps track not only your progress, but creates an enjoyable and innovative experience for you to remain healthy. Part of living a healthy lifestyle, even during the holidays, involves finding ways to be inspired. There are an endless amount of options and opportunities to stay active and conscious of your decisions. NCRPA and I challenge you to find a way to incorporate healthy incentives among your department and community. Using these apps in my blog and other educational opportunities can go a long way. Share healthy recipes, mobile apps, success stories and more through the use of Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram; this alone can increase awareness in your community. Most important, don’t think of staying healthy as a burden but a learning experience that will improve the overall health of our communities and states!
