April 6, 2015
Spring is finally here, and in honor of the first week of April, my bulletin will be dedicated to National Public Health Week, April 6th-12th. Every year during the first full week of April, American Public Health Association brings together communities across the United States to observe and participate in National Public Health Week. The goal is to celebrate the contributions of public health, as well as highlighting issues that are important for improving the wellness of our nation.
My current blog discusses how your department and community can become engaged with promoting National Public Health Week. We will be sure to share your creativity throughout the state to inspire others to join! Additionally, the American Public Health Association has proposed a NPHW “We Can Do Better Contest.” The “We Can Do Better,” contest will show the nation how individuals, families, and communities are committed to making the U.S. the healthiest nation by 2030.
