Happy Monday!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend are continuing to find ways to celebrate Park and Recreation Month!

As we find ways to stay active this summer in our community and department, it is important to keep in mind that mental health is just as essential as physical health. Maintaining a balanced lifestyle is key to living a healthy life. In my current blog, I suggest three ideas you can share with your community on ways to maintain a healthy mind during the busy summer months. Please read my blog for more information.

A quick reminder that the National Recreation and Park Association is bringing back the 80’s by challenging the nation to rock Park and Recreation Month 80’s style. The contest is lasting all of July, so there is plenty of time to get your community involved in the 80’s challenge. Connecting the NRPA 80’s challenge, NCRP wants your department to take the lead! It is the last month for the #MeinMyParkchallenge. The #MeinMyPark challenge, ending August 1st, 2015 is asking your department, individuals and communities to post pictures to social media while at their community park using hashtag #MeinMyPark. We will be selecting the best pictures that represent a creative and engaging way of demonstrating a healthy life while using park systems. To add a twist, during the month of July focus on the 80’s theme in the park! Read my past blog for ideas to get involved!

If you have any ideas on how to create a healthier and sound mindset then please email us or submit them on thewellnesssite here:(colleen@ncrpa.net,http://www.ncrpa.net/?Wellnesssub)
