Happy Monday,
If you did not know already, May is contributed to National Bike Month!
National Bike Month is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and is recognized by communities across the country. Since 1956, the month of May has been dedicated to encouraging people to give biking a try. My current blog discusses how biking is more than just learning how to ride. Biking is a wonderful opportunity to preserve the environment, as well as your personal health. Learn how your department can become involved during the last half of May by reading my current blog: http://tinyurl.com/lyslg6h
Please note that our next webinar, Wednesday, May 27th, will be hosted by Toni Webb and Joseph Voska, from the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. They will be discussing youth program ideas for the upcoming summer months. To register for the webinar please click the following link: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/326730142093298178
We hope you will work with us to continue to find innovative ways to inspire our communities to become active during the next couple months. Create fun and engaging challenges to encourage your department and community to enjoy the warm weather by riding their bikes outdoors. If you have any ideas or current programs involving Bike Month, then please email us or submit them on the wellness site here: (colleen@ncrpa.net,http://www.ncrpa.net/?Wellnesssub)
