This summer, I attended a Durham Bulls baseball game. There were a lot of concession choices in the ballpark, but one stood out from the rest. The Durham Co-op Market had a booth selling fresh watermelon, berries, and grapes for affordable prices. This concession stand vendor immediately got me thinking about the Wellness Initiative, and how parks and recreation departments can implement similar tactics when deciding what foods to sell at events. To learn more about selling produce in concession stands, please read the NCRPA Wellness Blog.

Diquan's Weekly Wellness Tip!
This week, the Weekly Wellness tip is a kayaking trip to Greenfield Lake in Wilmington, North Carolina. Greenfield Lake offers affordable kayak rentals and beautiful scenery. I took a kayaking trip here in May, and was surprised to see alligators! Don’t worry, they are more afraid of us than we are of them (and I was pretty scared).
Until next time,
